Spring Season
BACKGROUND
For high schools, universities, and many junior club teams, including the Colorado Junior Crew, the most important season is the spring. The spring season focuses on races of either of 1500 meters (most high school and some junior teams) or 2000 meters (everyone else). These distances support maximum fan involvement, and are among the most popular due to:
- Side by side racing with teams assigned fixed lanes,
- Heats and semi-finals to eliminate all but the best,
- Racing strategies as well as the inevitable challenges to those strategies,
- Grandstand or observation points (depending on the venue) that give fans the opportunity to observe great “to the finish line” racing.
TRAINING
Spring training brings together the excellent base built through the autumn and winter. Teams begin to focus on the result of all their training, through the most rewarding, yet challenging season, to achieve the best season results possible
